The link building marketplace you can search from your assistant
Backlink is a marketplace of publications offering paid placement in terms of sponsored articles and brand mentions. First, pick a publication, information and review its information and price, or purchase the placement directly on the platform. There is no package limit and no middleman making any selection of sites for you.
The marketplace is a service you can use when you need Backlinks, sponsored articles, niche edits, or mentions. An international catalog comprises 25,000 sites within 12 markets. The range includes 72 categories featuring 25 or more sites. Placements start at $89, and the price can be seen before ordering.
Backlink is designed for those willing to select the publication personally. You may verify figures, compare publications, and purchase the placement on your own without any sales calls. Backlink is a marketplace of 25000 vetted publications across 12 markets, where you order directly from the publisher at a flat 10% fee.
What a backlink marketplace actually is
There are three standard ways to acquire placements.
- Agency: It can select publications and buy placements for you. It saves time, but you hand over the site selection and placement process.
- Product store: Another option is a store that sells fixed packages. The margin is included in the package, so you may not know the actual purchase price. You can select one package.
- Marketplace: The third way to get placements is through a marketplace. The publishers sign up and go through the admission process. Then you search the catalog and choose where you want your placement.
That gives you more control over the purchase. You can examine the publication, the metrics, the market, and its price before placing an order. You don’t need to ask anyone to give you a list of publications and send you a quotation before making the purchase.
The fee is also separate from the publisher’s cost. This matters if you want to know what you pay for the publication and what you pay to the platform. On the Backlink marketplace, the publisher’s price and our 10% fee are two separate numbers, not one package price.
You can order without booking a call first
No sales call is necessary when placing the order. The price of the service is visible, so you can select the publication and place your order from the marketplace. No special form is required just for receiving pricing information. There is no demo call and no subscription. You create an account, select the publication you want, and order the placement.
The order process is designed for self-service. When you have decided on the publication you want, the order should take you about 30 seconds. If you want someone to manage your link building program, that is different. The Backlink service is created for this work and requires a discussion of the program.
For marketplace orders, the point is clear: you select the publication instead of someone else selecting it for you. You can order a placement on Backlink without booking a call, without a subscription, and without a contract, and all prices are available on the website before signing up.
25000 publications got in. More than 330,000 did not
The large catalog shows how many sites there are. It does not say anything about the number of websites rejected before they reached the catalog.
Backlink accepted 17% of the publisher applications over four years. Thus, over 330,000 applications were rejected out of nearly 400,000 applications. The primary reason was simple: the site had no traffic, or the traffic was poor.
Backlink considers four primary criteria when reviewing the publications. The site needs at least 1000 visitors per month from Google organically. Besides, the site should have a Domain Rating of at least 10 and a Trust Flow of at least 10.
Additionally, there is the ratio balance requirement. The publication must have no less than six incoming links for every ten outgoing links. This helps prevent publications that consist of paid articles and links from them. If a site has too many outgoing links but very few incoming links, then it can be considered a pass-through rather than a publication with its own presence.
These are the basic requirements. You can read the complete list of requirements and see how Backlink checks them on the page about what a placement costs per site. In four years, Backlink examined nearly 400,000 applications for publishers and accepted 17% of them.
What you see before you order
In the marketplace, it is not necessary to ask for a quote to compare publications. You will see all the details you need while you search. Each publication includes details such as the Domain Rating, organic traffic, niche, language, market, and price. You can then select publications from the catalog according to your requirements.
There are two types of placements. A sponsored article is a new article placement on a publication, whereas a niche edit, or link insertions, is a link placement in an existing article. Link insertions let you place a link within an existing article. More details on sponsored articles and a link in an existing article can be found on their dedicated pages.
The buying process is fast. It takes 30 seconds to place an order. At that rate, ten orders take roughly five minutes, once you have selected the sites. The challenge is selecting the right websites. The order itself does not need to take much time. The time it takes to place an order on Backlink is 30 seconds per placement, and 90 percent of orders are picked up within a day.
What a placement costs, and what our cut is
The placement fee on the Backlink marketplace starts at $89. When you order yourself, Backlink takes a 10% fee from the cost of the sale. That is the full platform markup for a self-service order.
The cost of the publisher placement and the Backlink’s fee are shown separately. So you know what will be charged for placement and what the platform will take before you order. If you need a Backlink to run the program for you, the service works differently. The fee is 20% on top of the link-building budget. It is a separate service for managed link building rather than a self-service marketplace.
In addition, refunds are also available. It is applicable when a publication becomes unavailable, or the link is redirected to another page rather than the page agreed upon. Platform customers have coverage for one year after placement, and service customers have coverage for up to two years.
To get more information regarding the pricing structure, including how the marketplace fee works. Backlink charges a fixed rate of 10% as a platform fee when you order on your own and 20% as a platform fee when we implement your budget.
A Marketplace your assistant can search
You can also search for the Backlink marketplace via Claude or ChatGPT using the Model Context Protocol, or MCP. This lets your assistant work with the marketplace instead of requiring you to search every publication yourself.
Your assistant will be able to search and filter publications, compare pricing and metrics, place orders, send the briefing for an order, check order status, and request brand mentions. You can manage these tasks from one place.
It takes no payment to connect to the MCP. The cost per placement remains the same as in the marketplace itself. There is also a confirmation step before placing the order, so that your assistant will not place the order on its own.
For example, you can ask:
“Find five UK home and interior publications with DR 30 or higher and at least 1000 monthly visits, under $89 per placement.”
Now the assistant will have some filters to start working with, instead of searching each publication for you individually. MCP gives you another way to search the same marketplace catalog.
Backlink is the only link-building marketplace of the 21 we compared that your AI assistant can search and order from directly, with a confirmation step on every order.
A Marketplace, agency, or product store
The choice of model depends on how much of the purchasing procedure you would like to conduct yourself.
- A marketplace is recommended if you want to choose the publications. You can compare sites, review their numbers, and decide where your budget goes.
- An agency is selected when you don’t want to choose sites or manage orders. You can hand over your work, and someone else runs the program for you.
- A product store might be the right option when you need a fixed package. The choice is made among pre-defined options rather than reviewing each publication.
Another alternative is WhitePress if you need to cover many languages at once. If you don’t have someone on your team who would like to find out more about publications, an agency may be a better choice.
The weak point of the marketplace is clear. You have to know what to look for. You must compare publications and select sites that meet your criteria. If you want someone else to manage that process, you can do it yourself or have it done.
Below roughly $1,200 a month, ordering yourself on the Backlink marketplace costs you less than having anyone run it for you.
Where to go next
- Begin with the pricing if you want to learn more about the 10% marketplace fee before your first order.
- Look at sponsored articles if you would like to get a new article published on a publication. This is one of the 2 main placement types.
- Read about a link in an existing article if you would like to use an existing page.
- See the twelve markets and who writes in them if you require publications from 12 different international markets.
- Learn what a publication has to meet to understand the 5 requirements that make up the admission process.
- See link building for a product site if you have a SaaS company.
- See link building for an online store if you have an ecommerce company.
The Backlink marketplace includes pages dedicated to the price, guest posts, niche edits, twelve markets, and publication requirements.
When a marketplace is not the right fit
The marketplace is not suitable for all buyers. If you have no long-term strategy and no budget for at least six months, then you should wait. Link building works as a continuous process, so a single purchase may become problematic.
The marketplace also isn't recommended if you want to buy a fixed package and forget about site selection. In this case, a product store may be the best choice. You should not select Backlink if you have a US office requirement. Backlink is located in Rotterdam, not the United States.
Backlink B.V. operates the marketplace. The organization was founded in 2021 and has a team of 15 people. Its Chamber of Commerce number is 86669826. The platform provides access to an international publication catalog. It is not presented as a local Dutch publisher network. Backlink B.V. has been running this marketplace from Rotterdam since 2021, with a team of fifteen.
Questions people ask before their first order
Is buying links from a marketplace safe?
This depends on where the placement sits and whether the website has real visitors. That is why Backlink analyzes publications before accepting them. There is no guarantee of better rankings or that buying a link will not cause problems.
What is the fee, and is it on top of the publisher price?
When you place an order yourself, Backlink will charge 10% of the sales price as its own platform fee.
Do I need a subscription or a contract?
No, you pay per placement. There is no subscription or contract for marketplace orders.
Who writes the articles?
The placement type determines what is being purchased. In the case of a sponsored article placement, the order is for a new article on a selected publication.
What happens if the site goes offline?
Backlink provides a refund if the site goes offline or the link lands on a different page from the one agreed upon. Platform placements are covered for one year, while serviced placements are covered for two years.
Can I order from Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, you can use Backlink MCP with Claude or ChatGPT to search the marketplaces and place an order. Each order is first confirmed before it is placed.
Backlink has no subscription and no minimum order: you pay per placement plus a 10% fee.
Start with the catalog
If you already have an idea about which publications to use, you can search the catalog on your own. And compare available sites before ordering. You can check or analyze traffic, Domain Rating, niche, language, market, and price instead of waiting for a sales call.
For managed programs, there is also a service option in Backlink. The marketplace lets you see the buying process clearly. You select the publication, view its price, and pay the platform fee separately.
